The Hostels in Sofia are superb, although hotel prices are higher than the rest of Bulgaria. There is an accommodation reception in the train station but the hours are somewhat irregular! However, the EBP Tours office in the train station can find private rooms for you for 20lv. If you stay a few days you will find hostels will often offer a discount.
